Freshly promoted to Regional 1, AS Villers-Houlgate, as part of the Coupe de France, published the most complicated draw of all the Auge formations with a confrontation against Oissel.
Against a National 3 team, Villers-Houlgate declared that the task will be complicated, all the more so since Oissel is doing well at the start of the season with, in the league, a narrow defeat against the reserve of Le Havre AC and a short La Victoire also faces Saint-Lô with the same score of 1-0.
One shot to play…
Faced with an adversary, the usual national level, the room for maneuver will be narrow for Villers-Houlgate. Omar Konté and his teammates, even if they will play at home (NDRL in fact at the Parc des Loisirs de Touques) this Saturday at 5 p.m., will not leave with the favors of the prognosis. Now, Villers-Houlgate, who aspires to discover in the near future the national level, is also not a good draw for Oissel who, it is also certain, will not come with a flower in the gun on the Côte Fleurie.
The keys to the game
Obviously, the qualification is played on few things. Villers-Houlgate has, in particular in defense, assets which should enable him to be up to the subject of match capable of believing in the qualification. There will probably not be, except in exceptional circumstances, more than one but of difference when the referee puts an end to the match because Oissel also displays a great defensive solidity at the start of the season… from there to imagine a penalty shootout to decide the winner… there is only one step.
« We focus on what we have to do »
Benjamin Morel, ASVH coach.(Site notre bureau spécialisé)er>
With the approach of what will constitute the poster in Pays d’Auge for this 3rd round of the Coupe de France, Benjamin Morel does not intend to be a victim: « Oissel, they have been in the title race for a long time this season. Last before collapsing in the second half of the season. They have a great team. They play at the top of the N3 table. Now we are focusing on what we have to do. We know it’s a good team, but it’s up to us to put on a good show. It will also be an opportunity to gauge ourselves. It will be good to see the gap between them and us. When you’re a player, you love that. »
The other teams from the Pays d’Auge (Livarot, Lisieux, Orbec, Pont-l’Evêque and Dives-Cabourg) will play tomorrow, Sunday September 11, 2022.
